Former FAARA receptionist to compete at national US colleges’ cross country champs
Former FAARA receptionist and daughter of FAARA director Stuart Imer, Charlotte Imer, will compete this Saturday 19 November at the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Cross Country Championships in the United States.
Charlotte, who is on a scholarship with Eastern Kentucky University, qualified to compete in Division 1 this weekend, after a superb performance at the NCAA Southeast Regional last Friday.
She was placed fifth out of 227 runners in the women’s race, covering the 6K course in a time of 20:30.7. Charlotte helped earned NCAA All-Southeast Region honours for the women.
It will be Charlotte’s first trip to the NCAA Championships. She is only the third Eastern Kentucky University woman ever to qualify for the national championship meet.
Charlotte was part-time receptionist at Brighton FAARA in 2014 before she headed to the US. She is also the daughter of FAARA director and physiotherapist, Stuart Imer.
“We couldn’t be prouder of Charlotte as she competes for the top cross country prize in the US college system. It’s a testament to her impressive dedication, focus and training she’s put in to running her whole life,” Stuart said. “We’re all behind her this weekend!”
