Our aim is to provide you with the best assessment, treatment and advice available for your problem, using scientifically validated measures and treatment.
Please bring any referral and scans/Xrays to your first appointment. It can also be helpful to see your athletic and work footwear, and certainly any in-shoe orthotics you have. Comfortable loose fitting clothing is helpful, for us to assess your problem adequately. Patients coming out of a cast please bring an athletic type shoe to allow us to provide some gait retraining (walking practice).
We will discuss your main presenting complaint, then assess your problem with a view to how this impacts on your desired activities and lifestyle. We need to integrate this assessment with any past history, and other concurrent conditions, as well as any other management including current medications. Also your occupational and recreational goals (pertinent to your presenting problem) will be discussed. We often need to refer to podiatrists, orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, and others as appropriate.
We will then discuss options for management and map out a treatment plan for you, and commence your treatment on that visit.
